Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program Counselor

Professional Background & Experience I have several years of experience working in behavioral and mental health settings with both children and adults. My background includes work in applied behavior analysis, care coordination, case management, staff supervision, and community-based behavioral support. I have experience supporting individuals with developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs, collaborating with families and treatment teams, documenting progress, and helping connect clients with appropriate resources and services. I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Towson University, where I am continuing to develop my clinical skills in assessment, counseling, and evidence-based intervention Areas of Interest I am especially interested in working with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges. My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, behavioral concerns, and the ways family, environment, and life experiences influence mental health. I am also interested in working with neurodiverse individuals and families who may need additional behavioral or community-based support. As I continue developing professionally, I hope to strengthen my skills in evidence-based assessment and intervention while helping clients build practical coping skills, improve functioning, and create meaningful long-term change. Approach to Supporting Clients My approach is guided by the belief that effective support begins with understanding each person as an individual rather than simply focusing on a diagnosis or presenting concern. I value building genuine relationships, identifying each client’s strengths and needs, and using evidence-based strategies to help them work toward meaningful and realistic goals. I also believe collaboration with families, providers, and community resources is important in creating support that can lead to lasting change Personal Motto, Guiding Principle Approach every person with curiosity rather than assumption, as understanding the person is just as important as understanding the problem. Progress does not require perfection; it requires awareness, effort, and a willingness to grow. Getting Started
